hey yall, just wondering where everyone is shopping for their bigger corals. especially the large sps. lfs are pretty lame when it comes to this kinda stuff.

Hey guys, Just recently moved my 90. (48x18x24) In the process upgraded to Halides. I have 2 150w HQIs and 2 55w actinics, hung 14in above the tank. could someone please recommend a good photoperiod duration as I have never had halides before. I am keeping some of everything, sps, lps, zoos etc.

I had an arrow crab i noticed this happen with. one day he had a nub, next day I saw an empty shell in the sand and he was standing there proudly with all legs in tact.

I was considering doing this on my new tank setup. more specifically a refugium after the W/D, and maybe even placed above the tank (so the flow will go-tank into sump/W/D to above tank to refugium, gravity fed back to main tank) any thoughts on this guys?

I had an outbreak of it that I couldnt get rid of for awhile and used red slime remover. it took about 3 days for it to dissapear, and it has never come back. I noticed no adverse reactions to any livestock. also I only used half the recommended dose.

I had a green chromis before, and he used to nip at my feather duster regularly. I also had a blue damsel that did the same. I removed them both because of this. id watch the chromis and see if hes guilty.

i have a friend who placed his 125 on a peice of stone, like the kind that go in front of fireplaces. then put the carpet up to that. it looked very nice, like the tank was on a platform, and stone is hard to hurt.

certainly the store would let you buy the coral and hold it for you until you are ready to travel home. as long as your trip isnt more than a days travel id think itd be ok. have them put it in a large as possible container, or cooler of some sort. my 02c
