  1. Algee question

I have seen that happen in my tank too. As I am sure the hermits are eating some, I am more convinced that the algae has just let loose of what it was on. Do you have alot of movement in the tank. I had a red slime algae problem a while back and whenever it seemed to get really bad it would just...
  2. newbie-lights

JUST A SIDE NOTE TO ALL. Loule, you said that flourecent and HID(MH, MV, HPS, etc) have the same watts to light output ratio. If you do some searching on the matter you will find that HID lamps are very much more efficient. I am not sure about MV's but HPS and MH are about 45-50% efficient with...
  3. plastic bins for sumps

On second thought, I would use a 20gal tall aquarium. Cheap and easy.It is not as much as the 33 you are looking for but I have seen smaller sumps on bigger tanks. If you want the capacity, it would be possible to drill to 20gals and join them with some bulk heads. You could buy a 33gal but...

http://www.watertanks.com/category/122/group/3/ I searched for water reservoirs and found this. Not that cheap, but its all I could find in a few minutes. Try searching for hydroponic supplies and systems. In the systems for sale, you definitely see the resi's that you want and hopefully that...
  5. plastic bins for sumps

I am not sure about the US but in Puerto Rico, Home Depot sells many different water resivoirs. Here we use them for water storage in case of a hurricane and water supplies not functioning. I saw many that were perfect and under a hundred dollars for something quite large. Back in my home...

  7. Live Sand Critters

Why is it that so many people are against bristle worms? They always are seemed to be concidered a pest and many people talk about how to trap and remove them. What is the down side of bristleworms. Is it that they may over populate or what?
  8. Hatching coral banded shrimp???

I am moving them to a separate tank of course, But I am not sure about the food. Will there be naturally occuring bactieria in the water. I geuss I got lucky with these as they are both wild caught. Both were obtained from the same area yet at differnt times. Did I luck out and catch an already...

  12. 175watt Iwasaki does exist!!!And other questions.

I plan on checking tommorrow. Nothing is open on the weekend in PR. 20 bucks wow. I hope I am that lucky. For cases I find that The small traditional red tool boxes work well. For less than ten dollars you can get one that fits 2 250 's. Easy to mount fans and remotes plugins as well.

  15. Can I make my own Fish Tank?

Here is what I did? I went to alot of glass shops and found that alot of the time the get canceled orders and over orders. Usually they are willing to get rid of this glass really cheap. In my situation I found a shop that had a canceled order of 64''x18''x3/8'' glass. Three of those and two...
