it all tastes the same to me :D
  2. URGENT - New Fish Doesn't Look Good. Need Advice

Ditto on what guy said, don't use an airstone early in the acclimation process, it sounds like you used it at an OK time. As far as what to do with him, it's a lose-lose situation. Leaving him in the bucket will stress him more and make him more sick. If he is diseased, adding him to your...
  3. thoughts on ick in my tank

I've had great success feeding the fish a garlic based food and running UV, less stressfull to the fish then other meds and procedures.
  4. what is your tank temp???

same here, 79-82, I'm thinking of lowering it a bit as I think some of the deep water acro's are very temp sensitive.
  5. Whats your PH

ph between 8.1 and 8.5 is fine IMO, no need to worry about it. Using buffers or other means to adjust your ph usually causes more harm then any benefit. 10% water changes are good to *maintain* the state of a tank, but not very effective when you are trying to "fix" something with your water...
  6. Whats your PH

Damn, if I gave up half as easy as some of you, I'd probably be out of the hobby now. I've got a 25 that has been covered in hair algae several times over the last 8 years. I only use the tank when I want something I can't put in my 180 reeftank, and when not ocupied I just let it sit, one...

  8. delicate acro issues

Yeah, I know it has lower light requirements, but it did the same thing when sitting in the sand (low light and low current) and then at mid level (medium light and low current). the only difference is the density of the new growth. I forgot to mention my lighting is 3x250 10k mh, and 2x160vho...
  9. 2x96 PC

breeder tanks are pretty shallow, I would imagine you'd be able to keep anything in there, including sps. I'll let you know in a few months, I'm putting a 96 quad over a 20 for frags/refugium.
  10. delicate acro issues

Hey guys, looking for some tips on stopping this acro from rtn'ing. over the past year or so, any minor maintenance I make in the tank causes part of it to rtn. a water change, changing 50% of my carbon, running UV, not doing anything... whatever. As far as I know it is a Acro. carolina...
  11. Check out this fish!!!

The hurricane must have swept it to the texas coast, where it was then collected and transported to california. 8)
  12. cant catch them!

I've had really good luck with a clear trapdoor style fishtrap with live brine shrimp. I've used it a bunch of times in my 180 after making a few bad choices 8)
