I put 5 bags into my 75, and 4 bags into my 50 and I never washed any of it..By washing it you are losing most all of the finer stuff,which I think is most benificial. IMO I would not wash it at all...Just dump it in and let it go... HTH Ralph

Enkidu...With the measurments that you gave minus the 4" for the DSB then the refugium would not hold but about 5gal. water.. If you could find the 27watt bulb with the right color temp then it should be fine...On the other hand I would go with the 65watt version... HTH Ralph
