Thanks, that was quick and right on the money. I'm pleased that its harmless and I'll leave it alone. Bonnie
  2. KOLOR SCAPE and Southdown Sand?

I have had no problems with the sand being "swirled" around by way of the water current. The sand is NOT oo fine, it is what I consider to be a medium sized to small sized grain. I've had no problems with debrie in the sand, my clean up crew seems to be taking care of any leftovers. Bonnie
  3. KOLOR SCAPE and Southdown Sand?

I have 200 pounds or so of KolorScape play sand in my 75 gallon tank. I am VERY happy with it. Be sure to rinse it very throughly before you place it in your tank. I used white ( although it comes in different colors ), it is not stark white, but kinda dull white, looks great. My light...
  4. ID algey ??

Good Evening All, I have a 75 gal tank set up for approx 4 months with about 70 pounds of Live Rock. I recently have found a "new" algey growing and I have no idea what it is. I'm sorry I can't post a picture as my camera won't focus on such a small item so close to the lense. However, here...

  6. Digital Measure vs refractometer

Hi, I have a Digi-Specific Gravity measuring devise as well as having a refractometer. I assumed ( this maybe my error ! ) that the digital measure of the SG would be the most accurate. So I've been measuring my SG faithfully with my digital devise and getting 1.021 as the result, which is...
  7. New England Store Recommendations ..

Hi, I know that NH may be a bit of a drive for you, but here are the stores with Saltwater supplies of livestock and dry goods. I find their prices very high compared to on-line suppliers, however do purchase from them occassionally. Little Critters , Raymond NH Little House of Pets...
  8. Substrate Help

Just popping in with my two cents. I am using Kolorscape playsand from my local Home Depot. My 75 gallon tank has about 200 pounds of this sand. I am very very pleased with it. I have added 70 pounds of Live Rock and have a very healthy bacteria coloney going. Very small algae bloom so...
  9. Is anyone using/Has anyone used Coralife salt?

I've been using it for approx. 8 weeks without problems. My water clarity is good, water tests out fine, animals seem happy enough. I don't mix by the gallon, rather I mix till my refractometer reads 1.025 Both IO and Coralife salts are popular in my area. Bonnie

  11. additives and test kits

Hi, I just ordered my live rock from liveAquira.com and was very pleased. I got un-cured Carribean Rock...its covered in coreline algae. The pieces were nice sized. I had just one LARGE piece that I set my son on with a hammer, he broke it for into 4 small pieces. there was some rubble in...

  13. Problems with MarineDepot.com -- Anyone else ?

Hi, Wondering if anyone has had any problems with MarineDepot.com. I ordered a prefilter from them and need to return it. I have sent them two e-mails requesting RMA numbers and have had no response from them. This is my first purchase with what I thought was a reputable company and may well...
  14. AquaC Remora modification??

I'm just going to hang my Remora Pro off the back of my sump, just as I had it hanging on the back of my tank. I figure it should work just fine. Bonnie
  15. I know I need to upgrade my Lighting -- Is this a good deal

Hi, Currently I have the NO lights that are sold standard with my fish tank. I know that I need to upgrade to better lighting but I don't have the money at the moment. However, I maybe able to get my hands on a Jebo 48" 144 Watt Power Compact Aquarium Light. What is everyone's thoughts on...
