  1. Number of Turbos/hermits for 55gallon

I also agree not putting hermits into your tank because as hermits grow they seek new homes... what could be a more obvious home than that of a snail that has fallen off the wall or is stripped off. I personally would go the snail route and get a variety. Get a few turbo-graizers because these...
  2. getting an overflow started

You need to place both ends of the u-tube under water. Then put an old air line tube or something like that, inside the u-tube and suck out all the air. So basically you need to have both ends of the u-tube under water and suck out all the air. Goodluck, Kevin

  4. What should I do?

Thanks, I didn't really think that anything would be wrong, but... i didn't really want to take a chance and have something horribly wrong happen. Thanks again! Kevin
  5. What should I do?

I've just noticed that the glass on the tank is scratched? First off, thoughts went through my head that it was a crack. But after investigating the scratch, I found that the outside still feels completly smooth (my finger nail won't get caught in the scratch) but inside the tank my finger...
  6. tang feeding?

My opinion is that there won't be enough for the tang. I'd purchase some of the dried algae and offer that to them everyday. They will eat basically anything you put in the tank. Tangs constantly pick at rocks and the glass walls taking in algae. But that alone won't be enough. I will...
  7. Bristleworms

Dont try and kill the bristleworm. They are a valuble organism to have in the tank. Bristleworms help to move the ls around and eat waste products in the tank. The more you have the better.

  10. Slime Algae

I'm starting to get a red slime algae problem. I do have some slime remover medicine, but i'm afraid that it would kill some of the symbiotic algae in my colt, candycane, zoos and mushrooms. So i don't really want to use it. Also, there have been several forums statingthat red algae will...

  13. Favorite Shrimp?

<blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">quote I have a pair of cleaner shrimps that breed every week and a half like clock work. They provide a nice meal for the fish. So to answer your question, yes for cleaners. Not sure about others though.
  14. Do you have a parrot?

There is a good forum at www.toolady.com it isn't just for one species of bird. There are people that specialize in macaws, cockatoos, quakers, and finches. I myself have a Chestnut crested macaw (severe macaw) and a Quaker. Hope this helps!
