i got mine to open up nicely by cutting the top off of a milk jug, putting some tank water in the jug and squeezing all the juice out of a few tiger prawns and some scallops into the water. they were open within an hour, and now they open every night when the lights go out. i target feed them...

actually, upon draining the tank and isnpecting, the seal was poorly applied in the corner such that all it took was the pressure of the water to get underneath the silicone and peel it right off the glass.
