Nope... its been up for close to a year now. The main change has been the addition of a 250Watt MH light. Think that could be the culprit? Thats what i have assumed but I wanted to hear some opinions.
Recently, i have had an explosion of yellowish-light green algae all over the glass of my tank and everything in it. My new Deresa clam was a perfect white when i got it- now its a scummy grey-green. :(
Any idea what's going on?
Pics can be obtained if you think it will help.
Thanks!
Second Update:
Metal Halides installed today and wow... what a difference!
The anemone is blooming and everything looks great in the tank.
Thanks for all your advice. :)
Just got my 250 Watt HQI Lamps today and i pluged it in.
Boy was i dissapointed.
Then about 15 seconds later i almost lost my sight. :lol:
I didnt know MH took a few seconds to kick in the first time they are powered up. Now i feel like the sun has invaded my living room.
OMG What a...
FOWLR = Fish Only With Live Rock
BTA = Blue Tooth Anemone or Bubble Tipped Anemone ;)
LR = Live Rock
LS = Live Sand
MH = Metal Halide
PC = Power Compact
VHO = Very High Output
Pods = Copepods, Isopods and other little critters in the tank
Anyone who knows more can add the rest..
Cheers!
My percs took to my new Ritteri anemone within 24 hours so i'd say after 3 weeks, it might not happen.
All hope is not lost however as some other members have had fruitfull pairsings of true percs, ocelaris and a BTA.
Cheers!
Update:
Anemone is looking good now. Back to about 3/4 normal size... moving about towards the light, and the perculas have taken to it like bears to honey. I also fed it a ghost shrimp and it reacted instantly and grabbed it.. cool! :)
I guess its going to be okay.....
Said notes are at the drop point..... $20 unmarked bills. ;)
By the way my clowns have taken to it in just 1 day!!! :o
It is still just about a third of its original size but it is now stable and happy at the top of the tank.
