Oh, also, Len - I have a reactor on order but have heard that I should continue with the Kalk drips as the reactor will maintain the DKH while the Kalk is more for the Ca+. Just have to watch the PH close. Right, wrong???
Just seems strange there is not more published or you don't much about the practice. No one locally, that I have talked to, have heard of the concept and most are sceptial until I show them what my results.

Was wondering - has anyone used the method outlined by BReefCase in the archive thread ( http://reefs.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=13770ad ) ? Specifically the addition of vinegar to the Kalk mix in order to drive the chemistry to our benefit? I have been doing this off and on for about a year...
I aggree - leave it alone for awhile and then see what happens. After cleaning cup and column - it takes mine awhile to kick back in. If the bubble column is good, just wait and be ready to catch all the "good stuff".

Just finishing up installation of a CustomSeaLife 1/3HP inline - seems to be a good unit. Was recommended by LFS - they normally do not carry these so was special order. First unit received was a "drop-in" and I would agree - not the best choice. You are restricted to the ( in this case ) 6'...
I would go with the 250's - Currently I have a 24" deep tank running 3 400W MH plus some PC's and if I had it to do over again I would go with the lower wattage. The heat is major!! As far as an algae blooms go - water quality and nutrent control are of greater concern.
Whichever you do, go slow...
Wanted to thank you for taking the time to reply. Just added a chiller and considering a Ca reactor - thinking is that with these devises, a controller is needed. Also would like to do something closer to "Natural" with the lighting.

Was wondering - which is considered best for the money? Looking at the Aquadyne or Neptune but which would YOU chose & why? Also, which has the better software?
