    oh wow you did that backwards you are going to get bubbles into you main tank with your baffles set up like that if you bring water into the left hand side of the tank when it goes to the right it will overflow the right baffle and fall a long ways to your return pump creating bubbles you...

    go salt water, but dont do a reef setup you dont have the time. if you are gone for 2 days at a time with no one checking on your tank and something happens your screwed. you should do a fish only with some live rock. as far as tank turn over rate 10 times per hous is the general rule of thumb...

Any way your fich has ich, a 46 gal aquarium, you have a huge overcrowding issue way to much stuff in there sounds like you are doing a mostly fish only anyway and with that much live rock you have about zero swimming room think about getting a sump...

    the rule of thumb is around 1 to 2 lbs of live rock per gallon. so for your 55 gallon you should have at least 55 lbs ,if you are going to do a reef setup.     the only bummer about ordering corals is the shipping they have to be shipped in water and they have to get there fast so your coral might only cost 50 bucks but the shipping will be an extra 50 bucks now your cheap coral just turned into a $$$
