I have started up after as little as 5 minutes with no apparent problems. It really deoends
on ones options making repairs on the feed line I would start up as soon as I could.
On a closed loop I might wait an hour.

I have used them to move water from storage to tank They last about one year in that far from continuous use . Also after moving about 55 gals they are rather hot. In short IME even if they had no copper they wouldn't make a good powerhead.

If you look at this mos AA you see that terry keeps a variety of fish in his reef I asked him about this and his response was somewhat encouraging.

I know it seems irrational but I am sitting here viewing two gfci's one 20 amp and one 15 amp. Not sure there is any difference except 20 amp will accept a 20 amp plug. hmm
