I ran into a checkpoint off exit 61 off the LIE last night. There are always check points during the holidays on the major roads in westchester county so be careful and have a great holiday weekend everyone. :givebeer:
Watch out on Sunrise Hwy eastern LI..the radar cops are on the opposite side of the road making quick u-ies and grabbing peeps for speeding.
Don't feel comfortable just cause they aren't on your side of the road!
Ocean Parkway - they are having a field day with the new traffic circle pattern at Jones Beach..and watch out for the baby geese there too, they're are tons of them walking onto the road! They even put up a 'snow' fence to keep them from crossing...

Claim that you need the bathroom. Of course, having a bottle of water to spill on your pants to emphasize your point would make kudos points on getting off. :tongue1::tongue1::tongue1: I've also gotten off on a real excuse, of course, I can't see why it wouldn't work. Just say you have a relative in a hospital and that you didn't notice your speed because you were in a hurry to see them because of life and death. You need to know where the hospital and how to get there to get off that one though. :duh:

I've got out of a lot of tickets in the past. "i did not know" worked for a while.
I was not speeding on the vanwick, but i was driving on the shoulder trying to get to JFK to get a friend to a flight. the cop asked to see the plane ticket, then gave us an escort to the terminal!!!
the hard part was trying to stay close to him while people got out of the way then tried to cut in right behind him.
Jon, I can understand Russ, living in the "sticks" we get more than our fair share of kids wrapping themselves around a tree or telephone pole.
What I don't like up here is the constantly changing speed limits. My last 15 miles going home the speed goes 45,35,45,35,55,30,55,30,55. It's very easy to get caught speeding if you not paying attention.
