Brendan, continental drift and the polar shift are 2 different things. I wasn't disagreeing although they are tied together by the idea that the core is just a liquid mass with continental rafts "drifting" on it.

Sorry quick read got messed up LOL Yes they are both tied together due to the make up of the core and the tectonic plates. I think something has to do with the atmosphere but also to do with the physical changes on te earth's surface as well.
