The not so perfect day

The day was perfect, did some stuff around the house on the renvoations, cooked in between, had my son's GF help me with some of the cooking, taught her a few things she didn't know, we laughed a lot.
Send many holiday texts and received even more, heard from a dear old friend and we planned to continue the conversation after dinner was done.

The turkey and trimmings all came out perfect..we happily gorged ourselves and laughed some more. Desserts covered the table, we found room for them we didn't know we had left...

Went to my bedroom to get something and found my Oscar Felix dead...
Twelve inches long..must have been 3 inches wide..I've shared my life with him for almost a decade..said good morning to him first each day and good night every night. He always came up to the front glass when I was near and wiggled at me even when he didn't want any food. Only for me.
I will miss him greatly...

Thanks all for the kind words folks, I'm still hurting over losing him...not many fish compare personality wise to Oscars...

Jim - without a doubt they do, and I don't understand how anyone who has kept fish long term can think any differently. They clearly react differently when other people walk into the room.
My SW fish know the different between me walking into my office with a red cup (for me, not them), or a clear plastic cup (their food) even if I don't approach the tank...they swim around quicker and gather near the top.
