So this is another hobby of mine . Think Salt Water is alot of $$$ well this one is more. ive been doing this for the last 10 years and its a fun and relaxing hobby. The first couple of pictures are of Flying Flights These Pigeons are from Brklyn and boy they Fly for 2 hrs straight. The Last 2 Pictures are of a Team of Racing
Homers that are out of Proven birds that one 2nd and 3rd place races from the 100 mile toss all the way to the 500 mile toss.

that is really cool. Can you breifly explian how they race for 100 to 500 miles ??

Well you start out by mating a Hen & Cock together. Once they are mated about 1-2 week later they will lay there first set of eggs. Those will hatch after 21 days....in 3 months time they will be full grown and ready to fly. you let them out for 3 weeks so they can fly around the area to get use to where they live. Then they are ready to go on there First toss. I like to take them 5 - 10 Miles and let them go they should all be home before i get there , next day same 10 miles, next day 15 then 20 then 40 then 75 then 100 miles. Once they do 100 miles its straight to 150 then 200 then 300 then 400 then the last toss is 500 miles. Not may make it that far the Good ones do come back. There are Clubs that you have to join in order to race homing pigeons.....

WOOOW THIS BRUNG BACK SOME MEMORYS I REMEBER ME & A FRIEND BUILT A COOP ON HIS ROOF WE WOULD BE THERE FOR HOURS HE HAD A BIG FLOCK SOMEHOW WE ALWAYS END UP WITH EXTRA BIRDS LOL:scratch: HOMERS ARE MY FAVORITE ..

There are a lot of bird flyers in Brooklyn..Some of these guys fly 300-700 birds at a time its Sick.
