yeah, i don't know. i figure they're starting out slow and easy and they'll start releasing more potent stuff later on. i know they are already aging their first batches of bourbon.

Chances are they are making the good stuff and watering it down. Coming out of the still it's probably 180-200 proof, depending on their process.

You gotta go to Kentucky if you want to get the good stuff. . . Or so I've heard.

U can get some of the good stuff a few hours west of me up in the hills.

Now take that moonshine and it put it in another bottle filled with dried apricots and two cinnamon sticks and let it mellow for a bit. Mmmmmmm you got yourself some nice after dinner drinks.

You can soak a bunch of fruit/spices in high test. I mostly just use vodka though. Pineapple chunks, cherries, and blackberries are my top favs.

You can also make your own vanilla extract. Slice and scrape a vanilla bean into a pint. Let it sit for a month, then strain.

FYI:

30% alcohol = 60 proof
40% alcohol = 80 proof
50% alcohol = 100 proof

If you want real grain you go to the liqour store and buy EVERCLEAR 180 proof end of story. I like to take everclear and put it into a jug and soak lemons and oranges zest or whole fruit it dont matter. a few days later remove fruit take the everclear bottle fill it with water bring it to a boil add 2-3 cups of sugar depends on how sweet you want it let the simple syrup you you just let simmer cool and mix it into the fruit booze stir and cool and you have a 90 proof lemoncello or orangecello or call what you want just stay away from your tank after you drink it so you dont hurt yourself or your fish.

Everclear is illegal to sell in NY- we have to go to Jersey or PA for that. Nothin beats a little everclear punch--- a bunch of oranges, pineapples, and a load of juicy juice and a couple of bottles of everclear.....mmmm yummy... OR the almighty everclear spiked watermelon- takes forever to do but is always a hit.

Its qualities are basically the same as out of the still moonshine-well as close as they can be and still be legal- 180-200 proof. The reason frat boys die from it is because a lot of them never learned how to gauge their drinking to how potent what theyre drinking is- when I was in the Army at Ft. Hood in TX certain guys would drink mixed drinks made with everclear like they were drinkin jack and coke and when they were passed out and throwin up on themselves Id usually be one of the poor saps stuck babysitting them and cleanin them up.(after takin pics that is lol)

for the record, the term moonshine officially means any spirits distilled illegally. so this stuff is technically just corn whiskey.

when i use to drink thats where mine came from, being the good ole boy from the mid-west and family all through KY, TN they would bring jars up for family events lol i always laugh when it's a holiday and people ask how was mine, and my reply is no one went to jail so guess it was a good one

This is why I said cut it in half with water was talking about drinking themselves to death. I was simply stating something I like to do with everclear as a matter of fact im making some peach liquor this week and then next week apple just in time for apple picking season and then we roll out the apple cinnamon in time for xmas nothing better than havin a drink that tastes like a dessert(apple pie) oh damn I might just mix it with a shot of baileys and call it apple pie ala mode. bottoms up frat boys.
