Awesome thread!

Cool time lapse photos! Can you make a thread explaining how you did this? I think a lot of people would be able to take a photo every week or 2 in order to assemble these awesome clips if you told us how you did it!

Twinreef, your tank is BEAUTIFUL as always. This is some of the best growth I have seen in a long time.

Dean, that bubble was close to death. It is truly a testament to your expertise that you were able to grow it out past its skeleton base. Did you trim the calcium carbonate at the base at all? That is some impressive husbandry.

The hard part is remembering to take pictures at regular intervals.

1. Make sure the pictures are taken from as close to the same angle as possible
2. I assemble the animated .gif using Jasc Animation Shop 3, which I think came bundled with the free version of Paint Shop Pro I am using. The software is very user friendly.
3. Just open all the individual files, arrange them in order. Set the delay between frames, (i use 3 sec, aka 300 1/100ths).
4. use crop tool to make image as small as possible to reduce file size, add dates with text tool if desired, then save.
5. upload :D

I think you can go back after some time has passed and keep adding new frames as needed, though I have yet to try it.
