However, if you post them now we'll have an opportunity to see your skills blossom over time and the hard work come to fruition. :D

If you want to have more of your pic to be in focus, maybe you can try to choose a smaller aperture eg f8 instead of f2.8....etc
But then exposure time will be longer and it would be best to use a tripod.

Oh, but believe me, I DID. I couldn't get the pictures in focus using f8 and tripod.

Strangely enough, I seem to focus better by fixing the focus and moving the camera until I get a good focus (instead of fixing the camera and moving the focus).

I'll play with it more and if I don't get it, I'll be back for advice.

Thanks,
Mihai

Wow Reefsoul,

Very nice closeup!
Details are there, colours are rich, exposure is spot-on, very little noise...
What camera are you using ?

Anyway, nice coral and the shot is fantastic !
:)

WHATTA YA THINK OF THIS????????

Nice star polyps!
Can imagine it waving in the current :)

Maybe should go for a longer exposure so that there will be motion blurness.
Could be quite artistic.
Like waving in the wind.
But that's just my opinion :)

The mouth is purple for certain, the body is a mixture of grey, blue, purple.

8) Cool...just wondering did you guys sharpened your pic taken via Digi Cam. I usually sharpened it so that it looks more refine & clear.

Newman, if you apply the sharpening filter inappropriately, the image will show a lot of artifacts, and you don't want to do that... FWIW

Awesome pics guys! Incredible!

Yeah, NewMan; sharpening stuff too much makes it look grainy and pixelated. All sharpening does is more closely group the pixels together in certain areas (so Ive been told).
I only sharpen very lightly, if at all, and use PaintShop Pro's Edge preserving smooth effect/filter... Makes it smoother and more defined at the same time...

If i may, i think the key to sharpening is in moderation.
Digital photos will definitely benefit from a little sharpening.
As it is, it would be a tad too soft.
But that's just my opinion :)

In photoshop you can actually do edge sharpening which lets u apply usm to just the edges/outlines instead of the whole pic.
I find this feature extremely useful :)
