LOL, nah man. I gotta save too or I'd have the stuff already. I just gotta save longer.

All I really spend my money on are scuba, fireworks, my tanks, camera and that's about it. ;)

Well at least your saving. I get some money pay the bills and take the rest down to buy my stuff. I just paid for a 125 gallon today. I should have it some time next week.

Just take your time and before you know it you will have everything you thought you never would get.

Most people dont go right out and fully stock with everything it takes time. The big expense I had to shell out was for the tank, stand, canopy, wet dry, sand, salt, pumps, plumbing kits, lights, and i mabe forgetting something.

After I get the tank set up I am buying about 60lbs of LR for cycling. After that I will add my existing 55lbs to it, and gradually add more corals and such.

Just remember patience is the key..

ah..i'm doing ok. i have a 75 with about 50 pounds of live rock and some happy critters, i have an extremely ugly, but effective, and most importantly CHEAP 400 watt MH, and i am adding pretty fast. if i wasn't in an apartment..BELIEVE ME..the next expense would be a 220 reef ready!
i'd prolly eat puffed rice for a year for it...lol

me too (married), but my wife is actually with me on this hobby!
she just said to me "ok..now one of us has to be rational tomorrow"
(we are going to the store for fish stuff, and she's insinuating that it's not gonna be her).

Sounds good. My wife is mostly onboard, except for the cost involved. I am still trying to figure out which protien skimmer I am going to use.

For my Qt tank i went to walmart and bought a 10 gallon special. Came with the cheap light tank filter and everything(mostly) to start a tank. It was $50. I bought it because a fish had ich one night, and it was the family favorite, our sailfin tang. I ran to walmart took water out of the main tank and set it up. He lived, and the tank has been sitting there ever since. It was about 2 months ago. I still have it running with copper, just in case.

i have just "crossed over" from the freshwater realm, so i had this populated 20 gallon sitting there. my wife suggested i use it to cure some rock we saw at a wholesale store, which looked totally awesome(ya know..the kind of rock you just can't live without).

i was going to use it for a refugium, but people tell me it's on the small side.
BTW..we did the same thing...starter tank from pets plus...tank, cheezy black iron stand, little 20 watt hood...
it went from a 20 to a 75 in about 20 days, and ever since, my brain has been thinking about another house...just somewhere to put my dream tank... :?
