The Rules:

1. Twelve digital photos will be selected for the 2009 Manhattan Reefs Desk Calendar.

2. Three winning photos from each of the following categories will be selected by our judges:
Corals
Fish
Inverts
Macros

3. For inclusion in this photo contest, photos entries must be submitted in digital format

4. Pictures should be taken with a 4 mega pixel or better camera, set to its highest quality, with little to no cropping to produce an 11” x 8.5” print. 300 DPI is ideal (3300 x 2550 pixels), however a digital photo at 200 DPI or above (2200 x 1700 pixels) is acceptable.

5. All Pictures must be in JPG format. Landscape format, in color.

6. Pictures are permitted to have minor digital enhancements for cropping, filters and corrections but images that have been judged to be significantly altered will be disqualified. Photo history must be left unlocked and visible to judges. No borders, frames, tag lines, signatures, watermarks copyright notices or dates will be allowed on the images.

7. Please when submitting photos make sure that photo is in one category only. For example if you take a Macro of a fish you can submit it to only one category so choose either fish or macro.
Members may submit up to 4 images per category.

8. Photographers retain copyright to their photographs but by entering into the contest authorize Manhattan reefs to use and print the submitted photos if said photo is selected as a winner.

9. The contest judges will base their decisions on the following qualities: image quality, impact, creativity, lighting, composition and originality.

10. Only one picture per contestant will be selected.

11. Entries that fail to comply with these contest rules will be disqualified.

12. The decisions of the Manhattan Reefs Contest Committee will be final in the case of a dispute, interpretation or any other circumstance requiring a decision related to this contest. Contest closes 11:59 PM June 30, 2008.

Amazing photo. What image quality do you have it in? I'd love a blow up for my wall.

Not often you get to see cuttles of that size mating.

Lets not Hijack this thread lol But I see them every year when i go to the philippines. They show up every year in the jan. for mating and laying eggs really cool. its JPEG but have the origional in home desktop i will send it to you just PM your email.
