I was told by Spectrapure a few years ago that NYC water is among the most heavily sedimented in the US... but as stated above TDS wise it is really quite good. Randy

Wow, that pic is disgusting! If my water did that I'd join the bottled drinking water craze yesterday! FWIW, the TDS of my "country" tapwater is at around 500, but at least it ain't chunky! LOL.

what is the diffrence between tds reading and sediment??? i know what sediment is but what does the tds stand for??

i have a 1 micron prefilter and a .5 micron carbon filter and need to change them out about every 2 months (200gal?)

yessonngs, how did your filter get so dirty? mine just stops working as soon as it's clogged (water can get thru) and usually the outside is still pretty white (the inside gets a nice dark brown)

yup. or if they are so clogged that you are no longer getting flow through them.
