looks 100 times better. welcome to MR. did you cover the tank before painting it? im sure you did. did you use spray or brush? reason i ask is cuz my 30xh needs to be painted as well. maybe i'll just buy a black bg.

Go for the paint. You'll be much happier with the end result.

We covered everything with black contractor garbage bags. I used a 4'' sponge roller and did about a half dozen coats.

Liz and I did a little upgrading this weekend, here's the latest:

One of our fellow MRer, Brian', has left the hobby and donated ~20 lbs of liverock and misc corals.

Great tank! Is that PC or T-5 ligthing?

Just wondering- if it's PC make sure those clams are as high up as you can go and watch them to see how they do... I have a clam 6" under PC lighting for now- just waiting to upgrade... he does OK and is healthy after 8 months, but I know it would be happier under better lights!
