Ok have 10 gallon tank, i am adding a AquaC Remora to the tank on friday, so i was thinking what should i do with the aquaclear 20, well i got the opinion to do it as a refugium. Well How do i go about changing this aquaclear to a fuge, i am new at this obviously.

please let me know ur opinions.

the only things in tank right now is a kenya tree, a branching octopus(looks like a frogspawn) and 4 large Black Turbo snail, which are like lawnmowers in my tank.

let me know

amethyst,

It is not too difficult. You just need some sand, macro algae, maybe a few pieces of rubble and seed. The seed can be a handful of sand/macro from someone else's tank, just make sure it has some pods.

i like to use a HOB fuge on all my tanks. i believe there are more pros than cons when using a fuge.

pros:
-more water volume which is always a plus. especially w/ small tanks
-refuge for pods(fish food)
-housing for macro algae

cons:
-some members have stated they don't like a fuge because it just collects junk. i think the best way to avoid this is by allowing a good amount of flow to pass through the fuge, trimming the macro if needed and not overdoing the LR rubble so the fuge isn't packed w/ stuff. thus allowing proper flow through it.
