Lauren here is my concern for you. That tank is a nice tank and it is an ok deal but keep in mind that water, at 8lbs per gallon, plus the weight of the stand, the tank, the sump, live rock and any other equipment you place in that area. What kind of building do you live in? will the floor handle that kind of weight, which way do the floor support beams run in the building? To properly distribute the weight of the tank you should go across multiple beams. Construction of the building is heavy timber (wood supports in the floor) or is the floor concrete supported by steel beams in the floor.

It would really suck to have a great tank set up then have it end up in your downstairs neighbors bedroom or living room. :)

This is a really good point. I can actually see some of my floorboard rotting through where the lowest point in my living room is. If would never trust my floor to hold 90g of water.

Patience is key in this hobby. Ive seen some great deal on whole tanks right down to the livestock that people are selling. Ofcoarse now that your looking there isnt any. Murphys law! One time i rented a van and drove half way across PA to buy someones fully stocked tank. It was a good enough deal to spend a day in a rented van getting it. I had found that tank on reef central. :)

Lauren .

I say dont buy anything used!! If you want to start a tank .Buy the equpiment new ,you know you have a warrenty on the units . you dont have to look for deals and you know everything works .

Getting a great deal come around once in a while .I f you dont know the person i say stay away from the equpiment unless it looks like they took good care of it .Do a search on the net for the stuff you need.

Srry i didnt read thru the 12 pages ,just a few post here and there ,so if im off course on my answer ,please dont kill me :)

Lauren ive found a deal for you. Its a 58 gallon Oceanic tank with matching stand and canopy. The tank isnt reef ready so youll need an external overflow or drill the tank. The tank currently has no lights but my friend can hook you up with them. The tank is like brand new. Ill post a pic of it and if your interested send me a PM and ill put you in touch with my friend. :) Its a crappy pic taken by my cell in a dark basement so ofcoarse it looks much better in person. Oh yes the price is $150 :)

Like Ming said...sorry you feel this way. We all pick and choose who we want to deal with, in real life, on the web. I'm sure you get 20x the comments and whistle when you walk down the street. Heck, I get whistled at sometimes :irked: . This is a friendly site and there are a lot of good people here so don't cast a cloud over us all because of a few immature folks. :)

Like Q said some of us are here for the hobby.

you know, when there are 50 different ppl telling you to be patient and research, you should really listen instead of trying to buy everything right now. Not trying to be mean but how are you going to learn and do it right when you're not listening to ppl that you asking for advise from? if you keep doing that, you will fail at this and just prove that person right that got you started this whole thing in the first place. sorry if i sounded harsh but BE PATIENT!!
