it's actually 34g. We have one set up as a display in the store since day 1 and it's never given us any problems. It's the most stable nano I've ever used and pricewise if you compare to the other nanos and what you get for the price it's techniquely cheaper lol. We have it set up as a zoo softy, and LPS tank. All the livestock is thriving and showing great color.
I also have the red sea max. it gives some people problems, and works fine with other people. if you want to keep a large variety of corals, i would rather do a DIY setup if you have the skill. that way your tank is more open to alteration. A diy setup is easier to upgrade your lighting if you decide to have sps. the max does not come with a MH option other than a very expensive mod kit. i would say the max takes the least amount of work to get running, but you will be happier with another option. just my 2 cents
The Solana looks great. If I ever upgrade my AP24 that's the tank (as of now) I'm gonna do it with. The new 28g Nanocube HQI looks good too. I think the RSM is way too overpriced and too limiting on the corals you can keep. After all the lighting is only PC.
IM GETTING THE SOLANA ON MONDAY.
YEAH, THE AUTO TOPOFF SEEMS LIKE A GREAT FEATURE(LETS SEE IF IT CAN HOLD A DECENT AMOUNT OF WATER, LOOKS LIKE I CAN MODIFY IT TO HOLD MORE).
I WOULD SUGGEST YOU STAY AWAY FROM BOW FRONT TANKS.
The bow front on my aquapod is really frustrating(thats half the reason im getting the solana, that and it is xmas
yeah the reason i did get the max was because the front was flat, not bowed like the nanocube and aquapod.it is easier to take pictures without distortion. since the solana is flat too, you shouldnt have a problem. i would do a lot of thinking before you decide.
Yeah the solana looks really cool. I would check those out b4 getting the red sea max. I read some threads on ReefCentral and they look really sharp. Where can you get one in the area?
