IS it normal during the cycling for the water to be a little cloudy? i did a water change just a few minutes ago.

Do you have sand? Maybe you kicked some up?

no it was cloudy from the morning and there was no sand kicked around. I thin k the water changes should do it. ????

And yes it is normal to get a little cloudy when it's cycling

BTW, don't do a water change if it's cycling.
UNLESS you are cycling with live rock.
and even then do small ones.

3 weeks cycling. the ph was at 10 and I did water change yesterday and today. the ph is now 8.5 and zero nitrates.

live rock and sand . just put in 3 hermits and 4 turbos.

Don't put ANYTHING else in the tank until it's ready. unless you want to kill it. you have a 50/50 chance your stock will live...I would even suggest letting someone hold it for you.

Ideally you don't want to put any living critters in there until after your cycle is complete, especially with a PH that isn't stable. If it climbs that high again, they'll die.
Any chance you can return them until you are ready for them or keep them in another reefers tank until yours is stable?

yes I can give them to my friend if the ph goes higher. So what about the not so crystal clear water?

Let your friend hold them now...The water will clear in 1~3 days and look crystal...
don't assume it's over at that point..Test your water every day for the next 2 weeks or so and LOG IT...

Don't rush, Nothing good will come out of it...

I totally agree with Ron, you're not done with the cycle yet. It doesn't happen any faster because the tank is small.
Stable means no fluctuations, PH or any other parameters.
