How long has it been cycling that you needed to do a water change?

And yes it is normal to get a little cloudy when it's cycling

BTW, don't do a water change if it's cycling.
UNLESS you are cycling with live rock.
and even then do small ones.

Ideally you don't want to put any living critters in there until after your cycle is complete, especially with a PH that isn't stable. If it climbs that high again, they'll die.
Any chance you can return them until you are ready for them or keep them in another reefers tank until yours is stable?

Let your friend hold them now...The water will clear in 1~3 days and look crystal...
don't assume it's over at that point..Test your water every day for the next 2 weeks or so and LOG IT...

Don't rush, Nothing good will come out of it...

I totally agree with Ron, you're not done with the cycle yet. It doesn't happen any faster because the tank is small.
Stable means no fluctuations, PH or any other parameters.
