Hi everyone, I'm a new user here on Manhattan Reefs, got into aquariums because of my friend. Planning to start one soon hopefully, thinking of starting with a Mants shrimp tank before moving on to fishes, and corals. I'd appreciate any help i can get. Thanks

Be very careful with a mantis. They have been known to crack tanks, glass or acrylic. Not a definite to happen, but worth noting nevertheless.

they can pack the same punch as a 22.....yes they can break acrylic. read lots and ask questions before jumping in. this site will allow you to buy equipment and livestock at a more affordable price. keep an eye on the f/s forum. welcome to mr.

PS. like everone said...they can break acrly...but i would still get that tank if i got one...alot stronger than glass...
haha thanks, yeah acrylic seems to be a safer bet then glass, hopefully i'll get enough LR that it wont go hitting the tank.yea...straight towards dangerous things...i like they way you roll

Welcome. The best advice anyone can give you is read a lot, check out manhattanreefs.com, reefcentral.com, wetwebmedia.com and others. If you're willing to plan ahead of time, this hobby will be much more enjoyable and you'll increase your chances of staying in it longer.
