I have only a 26 gallon bowfront with a refugium which occupies the back part of the tank, and a MH fixture that sits atop the aquarium. I am concerned that the reactor won't fit anywhere. any suggestions?

Sounds like a tight fit. Without pictures and measurements it's impossible for me to suggest any configuration for you.

Mo' pix and measurements, please.

 I dump the entire 150g pack into my reactor and it fills it about 1/3 of the way up. Am I missing something here? Are there other reactors I don't know about?

Russ lets say you had a large container of GFO material and were tempted to firmly pack your 2 little fishies reactor to the top with said media.
The next time you went to change the media you might be surprised to find a nice layer of hydrogen sulfide had built up in the bottom of the reactor. And you would only discover this fact after you had unscrewed the top of the reactor and allowed that most awesome smell to escape all up into your olfactory epithelium to the point where you had a gag reflex.

this tip brought to you by the "more must be better school of reefing, but sometimes it's really not" :shhh:

LMAO :lol2:

JH you just killed me. Notice I was referring to the 150g package. But yes, I can understand the knock your socks off effect of the more is better way of reefing. That's why I qualified my 150g usage.

Boy, I've been issuing a lot of disclaimers recently. I don't like this legaleeze crap. :irked:

i had a similar question about the phosban reactor. can i hook it up to a sump? does it have to be filled with medium or something?

Phosban reactors are good for a few different uses. The most natural one is for Phosban (Granular Ferric Oxide (GFO)), which the reactor is named for. Many people also use it to run carbon.
