It is a 65g 48"x18"x17x glass tank that was used to hold plants as a terrium.

This would be used as a sump or QT for the future and the price was $40 bucks so it is hard to turn down. What do you experts think?

if it's built to be a terrarium, it might not hold the water. Both Terrariums and reptile cages are usually made of thinner glass without bracing.

If it looks strong enough, go for it.

Some may say that is a lot of water to chance it... but some people also say you can't use a tank that was used for a reptile later as a fishtank...

and we took our 125g years ago that housed our Red Tail Boa for 3 years and made it into our first freshwater fishtank with no problems. Personal choice I think, if you are able to sleep at night, go for it.

I think it depends what you want to use it, and what if any chemicals where used, if copper was used in the tank I do not know if you'll be able to have shrimps, etc...
Sometimes you save a few dollars now and really hurts you later.
