ferric oxide?

Went to bulkreefsupply.com to buy some ferrix oxide. However there are a few choices. The three choices are Pellet, Granular or High capacity. My question is which one do I use? I have a 125gal reef about 1 month old (live rock older). I have two sumps with one phos reactor (ViaAqua) with maxijet660. I am using phosban now in the reactor and the flow cuts in half after about three days. Thinking I should add another as this one is from my 29g reef and is only rated for 70g I think.

So the question is should I by this stuff from bulkreef?
If so which one ganular, pellet...works best?
Also should I use carbon on my reef?

I was thinking about using my fluval 404 for both carbon(if I should use it) and the ferric oxide?

I would use another reactor just for carbon and as for the ferric oxide,use the pellet,won't break up.

Have you used this stuff from BRS? Is it as good as phosban or better?
So carbon should be used and I shouldn't worry about trace elements being removed?

Their stuff is as good or better than Phosban.Might want to try their High capacity one which binds more.I'm a fan of Rowaphos.Carbon should be okay as long as you change it once a month.

Also on top of what nelson said, the usefulness of the carbon goes away after extended periods of time.

Ok, so that means during the initial month the carbon absorbes Nitrate?
The reason I ask is because if the Nitrates are low <5ppm would it be safe to say the carbon would last longer than a month? Not questioning what you are saying just trying to learn why a clock tics...

Wait! no that's not what we meant. Nitrates will be the result of detrius getting trapped in the carbon and just becoming Nitrates. The carbon usefulness will diminish because it will be taking other chemicals, and toxins, out of the system and eventually not be able to store anymore.

Granules do break down rather quickly I just bought this product from thatfishplace same stuff but prewashed wet with a little media bag included and the price was a little cheaper but the granules are a little larger than the bulk reef GFO.
