It's funny how the mods are allowing all the post that have nothing to do with this guys sale. Doesn't matter how he got the sump or how much he paid, it's still he's to sell or trade. The double standard which is MR lol

+1 there are many more examples of the double standard. This could be the reason why about 10 people post outside the market place. The majority of the posts are complaints, WTF type questions or advice from the clueless lol.

Bump for a good guy met him yesterday and doesn't seem like a bad person. I truly don't know why this bothers people so much. If I give you an item for free and you come and pick it up I'm sure you paid for gas tolls and you spent time to go do it and time is money. If you want to try and make some of the money back I don't see it being a problem. He is also will to drop it off and I know a few people who don't no drive who would love the fact that someone is willing to drop off the item you want so I truly see no problem in it. If you give an item away it no longer belongs to you and you have no right over the item and should not try to bash the person. If it bothered you that much then don't give items away. I try and give frags away when people stop by or offer my help when ever I can there are plenty of times I see people sell an item I gave away and I don't care it's a hobby not life. Anyways I met this guy for the first time last night and he and his dad seem like great people and to call someone a DB is not cool and that should be an infraction.

I did comment on this post but definitely didn't bash the guy as I don't know him. I also agree that calling names isn't cool and I saw the original guy who gave it away didn't call any names. I do disagree (personal opinion) that it's cool to sell free items if only for this reason:I have a build thread for a school on here. I would say at least a 3rd of the equipment was donated or subsidized by MR members. I couldn't have done it without thier generosity. I don't think its wrong to resell free items just bad karma and in bad faith amongst community members. I was told once or twice I could sell items if I chose. I never would. Of course that's me.
The reason I wouldn't sell them is the guy who chose to give away a free item to me could have exploited my need to make a quick buck. A buck I didn't really have at the time. Every item I was given happened to be of great quality and could have been sold for a decent price. It was given to spread the hobby,to assist in keeping the community thriving. There are other people who don't have the same means as other but the same passion for the hobby. No one should have to miss out on the awesomeness of this hobby because someone needs an item that you have in your garage collecting dust. I've given and received. My first rock in my first tank was given to me by a generous member. When we stop being generous and become capitalist it stops being a hobby and becomes a business. We're here to help each other not capitalize off of each other. There's stores for that. Lol
Ok I'm done. Note:this is not about Juan. The seller. This issue has been around for a while. I don't think the guys a DB personally. I haven't met either gentleman but I've found most members to be pretty cool. We know how the world works. Let's leave the world out in the world and keep our little pocket universe thriving.
