what is a cocopod? is it something im unaware of or do you mean copepod? the bio balls will trap debris and break it down causing a nitrate and phosphate problem. this would make a fantastic filtration setup for a freshwater tank but marine does not need this. even to much live rock or rubble...

isak im sure www.photobucket.com would work here. this is such a great thread, however the only downfall is for most of these skimmers you dont know how big the persons tank is, how heavy stocked it is and/or how much/often/what they feed as all this will impact how a skimmer performs.

the stomatallas are good. my christmas wrasse will eat small ones. as for the question i would say no, as the shell is part of the snails body, just like a shell is on a turtle.

everytime i see some growing/floating around my tank i net it and throw it into my refugium. if it grows down there it grows but atleast its out of my main tank.

my first guess would be lack of oxygen but maybe it was a large pH swing? wouldnt the lights and pumps not running cause the pH to drop? alot of sanding, sawdust in the water? but you said the tank was covered? i do know that when i transfered my old tank into the tank i have now i lost alot...

what did you used to feed it and how often? what are you water params for alk, ca and mag? anemones NEED a reef enviroment for their health, which means they need good water parameters and lighting. improper feeding could have led to its decrease in health as they could be using more energy...
