I empty mine every week or 2, mostly becuase it starts to stink... Also running the skimmer in some vinegar water once in a while helps a lot for my euroreef.

Yeah, the water movement is very even and the junk that broke free is mostly picked up now. I think everything should adapt well. The only problem I have is the top water ripples. I need to find a way to keep the tunze from disturbing the perfect ripples I had, like rock placement or somthing...

54 gallon corner tank....

I tossed 2 crappy powerheads replacing them with a tunze stream 6060 (1600gph) in a 54gal corner tank. With the magnum and sump return, the flow totals somwhere around 2400gph. Its not causing a sand storm but this is a bit too much right? I was thinking some of the soft coral wouldnt like the...

Just got my xm 15k 400w in, its a mogul ofcourse... Not the color im after but atleast its more intense than the 20k xm. Im looking for that aquaconnect 14k color or phoenix, but I rather not pay the $150 and I dont have double ended fixture.... What bulb will make me happy for my money? Thanks

Eventually the bacteria would die off without anything to eat... Really have no idea how long that would take though. If you were to take all the fish out of a fully stocked and cycled tank, leaving it that way for a month or 2 I think you would have a problem adding them all back at once...

I think its the oil from your hands that scorches onto the hot MH bulb and reduces light output, same thing would happen to any bulb that gets that hot. MH bulbs do last atleast 8 months for me... HQI way out perform those vho and thier kw hour consumption for the lumens generated, right? You...

Save for the MH you will be really happy you did, I definitely wouldnt skimp lighting to get a tank setup early.

Regular typhoon, woulda got the T3 had I known my meter was broken. May just get the pinpoint conductivity meter. The water was about neutral ph, and tastes extremely clean like distilled but that doesnt really say much. City water is very hard here so its doing a lot for sure...
