Yeah bud I know but I bought the RKE three months after I bought the reef fanatic. And I've read about issues with the SL one switches. I love the reef fanatic.
It's up and running! Fighting a little cloudiness which I don't know wether it's from the salt mix or rock/gravel. I rinsed both in RO so who knows. It's up to temp, going to let it sit till Sunday and move everything at that point.
It's ready! At times it seemed like I
might NEVER say that. Moving day for everything is tomorrow morning! My new Phoenix 250w 14K bulbs from Russ will be here as well as a new Pinpoint PH probe and RKE temp probe. I have a TON of pics to upload I'm just shot. Tomorrow I will update fully!
Been up and running for 4 days now and everyone seems happy. Except for my skimmer which is going bonkers. Thinking its from the frag putty I used. Lighting is 2x250 Phoenix 14K w 48" RB for supplementation. Been working a bunch so I need to really update this thread at some point.
wow, this has been a beautiful and inspiring thread to read.
May I ask:
how many lbs of rock?
why did you paint instead of stain the stand?
what kind of circulation pumps are you using (including the gph)
why did you choose to place the pumps on the back wall instead of on opposing sides
I am just asking these questions because I am having to rehaul my setup and need the pointers to help my thinking and guide my plan!
Oh, and could you show a picture of the internal workings of the canopy with the cool pendants? I see that you've built a sort of chasis/saddle for them and want to see how much space you've taken up with the reflectors vs the T5 set up you showed earlier.
Here are the latest pictures. I sold my ITech skimmer and was a little hesitant about it. Wasn't sure if the change would be a good one. After talking with a few people (Thanks Jer, James and Russ) I went with a Reef Octopus XS200 and JESUS! I could not be happier! These RO skimmers are plain rediculous. One of the best investments I have made in the tank. Tank is doing excellent other than a battle with Bryopsis which after raising my Mag levels I seem to be getting the upper hand in. I apologize for the pics. All were shot with my 4S straight out of the phone.
