Kris if ya want ill give you a hand with whatever you need. Just thinking though that when and if you ask my inexperienced butt over there I'll forget the skimmer and hold it hostage for some ransoms of some sort. Thinking maybe a puppy or a bird if you ever want to the skimmer alive again. ;)

Congrats on the tank and stuff.

Really not adding much to my current setup...

Just another 250 watter + a bit longer VHO or T5 bulb.

I'm still deciding btwn VHo and T5 for the supplemental light.

Right now my current cycle is T5 on for about 9 hours and MH on for about 5 hours. I'm thinking I could cut back a little more on the halides at first and just run the same supplemental light. Was actually considering adding some of those Stunner strips, but not sure if that would do what I need them to do.

Getting my skimmer this weekend, then I can play with it and see how much clearance I'll have under the stand.

Also found this cool red crab (fiddler) in the LR I got.

I'm definitely going to remove the overflow box now, already have a great idea for the aquascape. Goal is to create a two towers with over hangs on each. I want about 75% of the sand bed exposed. Aside from the two towers I'm going to do a few smaller islands here and there for things I went sectioned off.

I'll be there. But I won't bring the mutts, they're s@'tbrains crazy and like to play stomp the small breeds at the groomers lol. Plus they'd burn tracks in the floor the way they run like maniacs once they figured out the route of the laps they would run. They also like to play I snatched your pvc fitting, what you gonna do about it?

:bump:

So things are getting closer. I've been refinishing the stand, making it look more modern than an AGA pine stand down. It's actually been pretty cheap, $40 so far and it's nearly done. This includes reinforcing the stand for peace of mind. Everything was glued and screwed. Will post some pics when I can.

Lighting is definitely going to consist of 3 x 250watt Ushio 14k + reef brite actinic strips for that extra little punch (Thanks Randy!) I'm thinking for lighting cycle, I want to make the lights almost like the sun moving from left to right. So light one (furthest to the left) will come on at 6pm, light two (center) at 7pm, light three (to the right) at 8pm. Light 1 will out at 10pm, light two at 11pm, and light 3 at 12am. This gives the tank a 6 hour photoperiod for just halides (2 hours with them all on) and I think it will create a nice effect. The cascading light should give everything a chance to "wake up" and then "go to bed". Also I might start just one hour early so I get a 8 hour period and each halide runs for 5 hours, instead of 4.

Mp60 is going to be the only thing in there for flow, plus around 300gph from the return.

As far as fish go I want to add the following:
-Powder Blue Tang
-Kole Tang
-Some sort of dwarf lionfish
-A mandarin
-Assortment of fairy wrasses
-Some anthias
-Atlantic Blue Tang
-maybe an eel of some sort
-Clown tang

Not going to get them all, but just need a list so I can see what I can have and can't have.
