Hey Local Reefers! This is my first post at Manhattan Reefs, though I've been reading and lurking for some time, I didn't realize how active a community existed in the NYC area.

I started out this past September, wanting to get my toes wet in the hobby after about 12 1/2 years away (the last time I had a saltwater tank I was 18, Icecap was a big name in reef lighting, and, I had a 55 long FOWLR). 6 months ago, I started with a ADA 60P drilled with an XAqua overflow and thought 18 gallons would be enough to sustain interest for a long time, but, of course, I was wrong.

This past weekend, I upgraded to a 60 gallon, Deep Blue rimless cube and haven't looked back. Below is the result:

Equipment
  • 60 Gallon Deep Blue Cube (24" x 24" x 24")
  • DIY Acrylic sump/refugium (22" x 16" x 16")
  • AI Vega Color w/ AI Controller
  • Bubble Magus NAC 3.5
  • Apex Lite
  • 2x Vortech MP10
  • Eheim 2000+ Return Pump
  • 65 Lbs LR
  • 60 Lbs Caribsea Sand

Fish
  • 1 Occelaris and 1 Percula Clown
  • 1 Flame Angel
  • 1 Tailspot Blenny
  • 1 Yellow Clown Goby
  • 1 Hippo Tang

Inverts
  • SPS: Acropora, Millepora, Stylopora, Montipora
  • LPS: Green Tip Purple Torch, Pink Tip Aussie Elegance, Alveopora
  • Anemones: 2 RBTA
  • Ricordea: 3 Florida, 1 Yuma
  • Actinodiscus: Blue and Red
  • Polyps: GSP, Fire and Ice Zoas
  • Clams: ORA Derasa, Black Maxima

Anyways, happy to finally introduce myself and see what else is going on, on the boards!

Thanks for the comments, everyone!

Damn looking good son! Piece of advice though close your blinds and add blackout curtains or you will be stalked. I seen it!

Thanks! Looks like I'm taking a trip to Home Depot for those blinds :wink1: My windows in the evening are definitely the odd-duck of the building.
