What kind of filtration are you using.

right now there is just a DAS ex-2. I will be adding a sand bed area in the sump with a bunch of macro algae.
I also have a flow through media section in the sump with a good amount of ESV carbon I run all the time.

looks great. i think shallower tanks should have the open look. tall tanks look much better with more rock. my 30 breeder will be more like this tank, while my 15 gallon designer has the tall rock work to use the height of the tank. i would like to see some closer shots as well.

i took some more pics, but the water has turned cloudy, it looks like i shot them through a soft focus filter. I'll try to boost the contrast in PS.

almost each coral is mounted on it's own rock.
the rocks are pushed together in little groups or islands.
as they grow they can be moved apart or changed around.

a work in progress this shows the vision I'm going after, a open plan
with plenty of room for the fish to swim and coral to grow.

a few more select rocks, and some more coral arangeing and it will be done.

A big thanks to Herman who came over on monday and helped aquascape and dip every coral I have, no small task.

Jon, totally impressed my friend. I was undecided at first. After looking closely, I'm captivated. I agree completely with the Zen look. So much going on and so very uncluttered. Kudos to a fantastic design.

Randy thanks, I know how you feel.

Dean I have to boil some of the old flat rocks for the clams.

so far it's not looking so good in the photos, in person it looks much better.
I think the marina board really stands out in the photos because there's so much bare space. standing in front of it your eye is drawn more to the corals.
