APEX Fusion

Finally got my invite for APEX Fusion Beta! I had to make an extraaaa-long ethernet cable to do the firmware upgrade since I currently use a wireless bridge.
Something is off with the pH. Its not actually that high!

The Walking Nem

So the GBTA has walked back and forth for 2 weeks. It seems to have find a place to settle. Hopefully it stays there. I just observe the frogspawn and the RBTA fighting! I'll post a video to YouTube.
I added a blue maxima clam over the weekend, bottom right of the first picture.

Anemone & Frogspawn Fighting

I was home earlier this week and noticed that the RBTA was getting a whooping from the frogspawn. The RBTA is about 8" and the frogspawn is about the size of a baseball. I grabbed my phone and recorded this short video. Enjoy!

The frogspawn has since been relocated.

Webcam shot

Here is a webcam shot from 7pm today. Tank has been fishless since the beginning of November 2013. I'm restarting QT tank this weekend!

I see the zoa's and paly's I sold ya are doing well!

The palys are doing great! Those things are indestructible. I've moved them several times, they were even in my sump at one point. Unfortunately the zoas on the plate all melted away. So did the blue xenias...at least so I thought.
I almost throw out the plate because it looked dead. The xenias disappeared completely and then suddenly reappeared a couple of months ago and they are growing like crazy. They are almost covering the plate now and growing into the sandbed.

I remember you told me about how rare they are and how difficult to grow. I think the reason why they started to grow is due to the absence of fish in the tank. Or maybe the low nutrient, since I'm not feeding the tank daily (no fishes at the moment).

I'm using the DLink DCS-5020L webcam. The DLink allows me to Pan/Tilt/Zoom and it supports night mode (which I can manually set). It integrates well with the Apex dashboard and provides live video feed! I also have it setup to send me hourly snapshots of an image and 15 seconds video recordings to my email. Same files are simultaneously uploaded to one of my servers via FTP.
You can open ports on your router to view video/audio stream directly from the camera or you can use the D-Link portal to view video/audio. This is free and it doesn't require any port forwarding!

Fusion is coming along great. I should clarify that you don't need Fusion to have the live video on the dashboard (Fusion is still on Beta invite). Any Apex shipped with 4.20 firmware (probably in the last year or so) will support the live video on the dashboard. Actually, Fusion DOESN'T currently support live video in the dashboard.

QT Restarted

So my 20g QT has been restarted and has been up an running for almost 2 weeks now. I've tested the levels and did the ghost feeding and added a bottle of awesomely miraculous live nitrifying saltwater bacteria to help with the cycle. Also added Dr. Tims One and Only and Dr. Tims ecobalance.
I'm picking up a pair of clowns tonight and I'm so excited!
