There are more pics in my gallery. What do you guys think about the open look? Do I need more rock? Its getting hard to find a place to mount frags.

Enjoy.

It's not that you need more rock as the tank is beautiful the way you've arranged it!
If you want more space to mount frags how about pushing the center pillar toward the read and make 2 'islands' to the left & right front of it that have multiple tiers and are farily low. Or one long low branch across the front.

I agree, nice aquascaping. That carpet is huge. It's works out though since you dedicated one side all to itself. That was a good idea.

The top acrylic part confused me at first, as it looked like the tank was 3/4 full.

Looks like it's well on it's way to becoming a nice reef.

why does the leather have holes? is it from the clowns hosting it?

love the bubble tip.

i was gonna ask why you don't fill up the tank all the way, then i noticed it was an overflow:duh:. that thing is huge!LOL

The leather started to die about a year ago and melt but then it bounced back. The holes have clothes up some but not completely.
I built that overflow to run all the way across the tank length. I'm pretty happy with it and I can also put frags inside. I actually have a birdsnest healing in there now. Its got good flow and good light.

Here's a few updated pics for the month of Feb.

I'll try to post at the beginning of every month so I can get a visual record of my growth.

Looking sweet.

Some questions? What are those two little yellow fishies? If that was a carpet they would have been lunch and dinner.

Are those maxijet mods? How do you like them?

Thanks, the yellow fish are yellow clown gobies. I actually have 3 in there.
Those are maxijet mods and I'm very happy with them. Very silent and push a ton of water. I did a diy mag mount for them with a polyester resin. Works great.

Bored - here's another update.

I've been dosing Randy's 2 part now for about a month with my calcium at 420 and Alk at 9. NUmbers have been holding steady. Haven't tested Mg in awhile but about a month ago it was at 1350.

I reaquascaped since I was able to pick up a nice piece of rock. Not sure if this is where it will stay but for now I like it. It needs to fill in a bit but I'm leaving some room for the corals to grow.

Now on to the pics:

Last but not least my 6 chromis: I didn't think they would last since my experience with them in the past is that they slowly pick each other off. But these guys have been very civil to each other.

Very nice tank there!!!!Interested in the overflo.... any chance you got any pictures of it or how it was done. I have talked to Anthony Calfo about that way of setting up an overflo across the back of the tank(his idea not mine) . He said it would be a great way to maximize the surface water to the overflo.
Any specifics on the way it was done would be great..
Thanx
