how is the aquascaping?.....i was trying to do a valley in the middle.... i dont think i have a big enough tank for it......but i think it came out good anyways......the top of the rockwork will be reserved for some sps frags...
some T5's

after i started the tank...the panworld was waaaay too noisy......after a couple of days....i coulnt take it anymore....so i went and did the mod i found on RC....it made a day/night difference!!.....my skimmer is the only thing thats i hear.....which isnt too bad....whoevers got one of those fan cooled external pumps should do this mod.....its well worth it IMO...

thanks toisek.....i have a small gold striped maroon clown and a bunch of zoas waiting to go in......

as for the panworld mod.
the heatsink was the first modd....then using the pvc cover was the next good idea.....if u look at the pump .....the pvc/fan modd is just like a better/much quieter version of the stock fan/cover....also the pvc modd provides air flow across the pump....with the heatsink modd , your just pulling heat from the back of the pump.

....
Very nice, only thing is I don't much care for that big rock on top on the left side. It kinda looks a acquard to me. But thats just me. I love the whole thing.
Guess what? I dont have a problem with the sand blowing around since I'm using ESVsand.

thanks awibrandy....i was thinking of putting the big rock at the bottom....but a few things kept me from doing that....(wanted the bottom to be more open for waterflow, ita a good place to mount frags )but i cant say im tottally happy with the rockwork yet...

esv sand ......im guessing they're course grain size....
i gettin used to the BB...not having to deal with the sand feels kinda good....i do have sand in the sump.......maybe if i miss the sand...ill stare at the sump for a while...

I actually like the rock work, minus the big one. To bad you can't take a wet saw, and slice it in half length wise that is.. Then you'd have two nice flat pieces.
I actually have the fine grain, and even when the clowns fan it it still won't fly all over the place. I love the natural look in everything. I don't like things that look artificial, but that's me. Can get expensive.lol Good thing I don't have an inline towards fur coats & gems.LOL

Very sweet setup, well planned! DO NOT put LR in your sump! It will do the opposite of removing nitrates. Also you'll need serious flow to pick the detritus off the floor and get it in the overflow. I like the skimmer, what pump does it use? Gravity fed is 100% the way to go with a recirc skimmer.

:)

fritz
i will probrably have a sand bed and chaeto in the fuge ....
for flow i am planning to pick up 2 koralia #3.....and a mj1200 in the back to kick out the detritus...the skimmer is great....i forgot what pump it was....im also not too sure how much flow should be fed into the skimmer....but im just playing with the ball valve to find the sweet spot...
any suggestions?

looks great so far!
don't stress over the rocks too much, once you get coral in there you'll be moving it, and taking some out. the coral will take up more room than you think :)
