No doubt, Paul. In the future when/if I do something else, I would definitely do a remote DSB.
So far, everyone I know who removed their fuges had nutrients drop quite a bit (most notably PO4). Pods will grow in your rock work. There is tremendous amounts of surface area where fish cannot get to which is plenty to support good pod populations. There are also overflow boxes and sumps that are free of predators and pods will show up there too.
Again, I like your all in one system here. I'll never use 2 floors in my home ever again for a reef. This may be a good option.
Did you make the reservoir/2 part section smaller for a reason? I figured leaving it full size reduces the need for additional cutting/wasted off-cut and also reduces the amount of product you can fit into each compartment. I'm thinking you are up to something or had to work around something to make it fit.

Hey Guys,

I was trying to avoid posting without any pics, but there are several questions and I should answer them. Pics will come soon and I decided to change a few things also.

Daceman89 - Thanks! I'm going to rethink the liter meter because my reefdosing pump can go as low as 7ml a day but the liter meter can only do as low as 50ml. I was planning on getting a tunze topoff anyway so then the only think I would use the liter meter for is water changes which I would only do when I'm there anyway.

I'm planning on getting a hydor seltz L35 pump. Its supposed to be better performing pump than the eheim 1250, not as reliable, but still reliable. If I get the L35 I'm thinking of having all the flow come out of the remote dsb/fuge area. I would send half the flow to the skimmer and the other half out of the remote dsb slots. Its the simpliest thing I could think of doing and no pipes visible, I'm just hoping I made enough slots.

Wes - Thanks!

Chief - Thanks!

loismustdie - Its shorter only because my stand is 4' long. I thought about making a bigger stand but this one (I'll have pics soon) is nice and already here. It would have been easier just to baffle off the area inside the tank but to keep it at 4' and not take up extra space I decided to do an external overflow type of thing. If its bottom was going to be unsupported I didn't want to go to far down with it. But after looking at the tank for about a week, it would have been really nice to make a frag grow out section on the entire backside. When I do version 2 it will definitely be in there.

Nick - Thanks!

Crox99 - Thanks!, never thought about doing that.

Vanceny - Thanks!, see the loismustdie response.

Post 2 updated.

Yeah, its about time. Unfortunately, I felt that the 1/2" 40G AIO wasn't thick enough to be braceless, so it never got setup:(. So I took the opportunity to make a braceless 60G AIO out of 1" acrylic :D.

Still a tiny bit of bowing, nothing I would worry about but annoying to me. I had the bottom acrylic piece cut too short so I got some bubbles drawing in on the bottom front and back seams. Nothing to worry about but again upsetting to someone like me. The vertical seams came out very nice, probably some of the best work I've done. I'll make a new thread to document the build but everything isn't ready yet. I decided to do somethings differently, which I'll explain, and am happier with the results.

Yeah, I went back and forth with it for a while but decided against it and think I made the right decision. With the way its made I can slide a black background in there anytime, I actually have one made for it already, but I like the see thru. When you see it tomorrow you can let me know what you think of it in person.

woot, i like it alot. About your 40G tank. Can't you just add Euro Brace on the top of the tank? Isn't that going to hold the tank even with 1/2" thin wall? If you are going to throw away that 40G tank, let me have it :)

Hehe, would you guys believe that I actually have another tank just like the 1" one I just showed. I didn't like the bottom seams (they look ok now though) so I remade the remake, lol. I'm not really into selling so let me think about it. I made the mistake of trying to silicone starboard in the original so I got silicone all over the bottom 1-2" of the tank. I tried to get most of it off but stopped. So there might be some scratches there also. Yes a top brace would fix it but you would also have to make sure the bottom was clear. I'll take a look at the tanks on Wednesday and take some pictures.

Personally, I like the simpler form I have today because, well, its simpler. When I make my new thread you guys will see what I'm saying.
