lol lanacane ty I've been in this hobby before but nothing to the extent as I am going now so I still consider myself a newbie because things are so much different now. I just went down and shot some pics of my refugium and my parameters as of 1/1 are:
salinity 1.024
temp 77.8
nitrate 5
ph 8.1
ammonia <.025
nitrite <.025
calcium 385
alk 11.8
phosphates <.0
IMO everything is good but the nitrates right?
Having trouble uploading pics will do tomorrow

I been trying to get my PH higher with buffers and everytime I dose it (i use superbuffer) My Alk goes higher I just cant get those right for some reason, as far as my calcium goes I'm dosing everyday and it is increasing, Nitrates IMO are a bit high. Some people say its ok, but i want to keep them at zero I did a water change and nothing has changed I dont know whats causing it and I'm trying to get the levels right. My only problem is I dont want to try to hard and mess other things up do you have any recommendations?

BTW my wife bought the wrasse for m e for christmas from Vivid Aquariums and is a:
Filamented Flasher Wrasse
(Paracheilinus filamentosus)

Maximum Length: 3.5 in.
Care Level: Easy
Family: Labridae
Reef Compatibility: Excellent
Minimum Aquarium Size: 30 gal.
Range: Solomon Islands
Diet: Carnivore
Water Conditions: 74-80 F; sg 1.020-1.025; pH 8.1-8.4

Its a really cool looking fish! But I have to say so far my favorite fish and selection are from Wonderful World of Fish in Astoria
