Everything has been going well. Growth has been good. I fragged a few corals, moved a few, and got a few new ones I am trying something a little different this month. Since I haven't been using phosban lately, I decided to fill the reactor with live sand to increase surface area for bacteria. Basically a fluidized bed. Since I have only a small amount of rock and sand I figured it wouldn't hurt. I'll report on the next update if I actually saw any difference.
I made an attempt at some top down shots but It's pretty hard on a small nano
Thanks Evan. I stopped using phosban because my corals were getting kind of light in color. With SPS this is either from too much light or too little nutrients. The phosphates remain very low without the phosban at the moment.
yeah i still have it and getting frag here and there i just redo everything so i can work out of state . call me up sometime dude u can come over and have a beer or 2
I've been messing with a few new bulbs lately. Here are current pics with an XM 20k 250w DE
and the second photo is a coralvue 20k 250w de which looks more like a 12k. This bulb kind of sucks IMO:tongue1:
Otherwise, I haven't really done much to the tank. I've been too busy at work. I think I did one water change since the beginning of May and I have been dosing b-ionic cal, alk, and mg daily. It is time to increase the flow in here so I pre-ordered an MP10 Vortech. I can't wait to get it!
I feel the same way..LOL. Thanks Randy:tongue1: I still haven't found a better looking blue bulb than the helios 20k.....but the ushio 20k is a close second.
