Havent posted in a while cuz im in the process of getting redy for an upgrade from my 30 to a 40br. I never had a tank thread for the 30 so i will document the breakdwn and set up of my new tank. I will try to post some pics later tonight so dont kill me yet they will be up soon.

I only got so much room. so the extra width is worth it for me. I will use my existing sump , i am going to be using a mag 9.5 for return and 2 korlia#3 for flow (Hay Kathy how about some of those concentrators if you got any left:)). Im upgrading to a tek 6 bulb T5HO fixture/upgrading from a 4 bulb fixture. I will be adding 15lbs of LR cuz i want to keep an open look.

Pictures of the tank lights and New Rock. Just waiting for the rock to finish cooking then i will be ready to begin the transfer/ also have to get the tank drilled.

Swap begins tomorrow at 10am i will post pictures in the evening.

schedule of events

10:00am breakdown and scrubbing of existing LR
11:30am Put new tank in place run all pluming
12:00am suspend new 6 bulb tek fixture from ceiling (this will be the fun part)
02:00am new sand and old + new water
03:00am re aquascaping of LR
04:30am get tank running and run for a few hours empty
07:00am all all corals and fish back
some time in the next 9 months- final coral placement and tinkering
time frame just for my own amusement.:splitspin

finally It is done. Started at 11am and finished 12:30am got some some pics i plan on documenting this tank hopefully on a monthly basis.

1- old tank
2- all corals in box
3- new water and my koalia 3's
4- new tank and sand
5- My external durso
6- New tank being filled, used the plastic bag method it works like a charm.

Right now the tank is an aga 40BR. Im using a 6bulb TEK with 2 geisman atinic plus and 4 aqua blue plus. Two koalia 3, A mag 5 for return which i am upgrading to a 7 soon. My skimmer is a nautilus TE but i am upgrading to the new octopus NW150. Currently dosing b-ionic 60ml cal/alk daily. Ca 440PPM Alk 11DKH.

I was having a little trouble with the two koralia 3 blowing the sand in the front of the tank. I think i solved it i have one in the front left pointing diagonally towards the back right and the other in the back right pointing across the tank towards the back left. right now it seems to have good random flow and not blowing much sand around. You think the two #3 on a 40BR is to much?
