why a 6 bulb fixture instead of 8? i am going to get on but was told 8 is better for a 48x24x24 120 tank.

Same question here on why 6 bulb over 8 bulb especially since the 120xl is 30" front to back

However it all depends on proper coral placement so you probably could get away

Nonetheless tank looks great

all i have to do is say WOW i just got home from there and what an awesome tank and foot print should have gone later to see with the lights on but still amazing...

i think that in my next upgrade actually i know it is!!!!!!!!

Why 6 bulb, not 8 - 8 bulbs seriously would have been an overkill, especially with these Powermodules. The fixture is pumping out ton of light and I can already see couple of corals showing signs of bleaching due to excess amount of light. 6bulb fixture width also gives us few areas in the tank where we can place livestock that prefers lower light.

Got a look at this tank on the week-end. The two things that immediately hit me right away.
One - that Angel fish, wow what a beauty.
Two - As I was there in the afternoon the sun was coming through that window and the shimmer it created in the tank was very amazing.
And then i looked closer........

Love this tank very nice cant wait for it to grow in a little. Well done guys.
