diy ZeroEdge tank

Well i've been thinking. I really like the way the Zeroedge tank look like so i think i want to make one because they run upwards of 1,000 dollars for just the tank. I dont think it will be that hard. Here is my sketchup so far.

Hey, don't know if you know coralcruze(Ben), but he built his tank. It is similar to zero edge on 2 sides, with the waterfall, and he built it from the ground up himself. He prob would be able to answer quite a few questions. His tank came out awesome. I have seen it in person

Thanks yeah i thought that i definitely need a sump i think 10 gallon sump for a 20g tank. the real problem is going to be flow. Its hard to make pvc.

You need a lip or a "gutter" around the tank to catch the water as it cascades over the sides. "Zero edge" tanks can't be flush with the edge of the stand. Although, that just gave me an idea lol.

yea i dont know what i was thinking earlier when i suggested eliminating the lip ...i was at work and my mind was weak lol

I got the acrylic but Home Depot didnt have aquarium safe silicon or at least we couldnt find it.:irked::irked:

whats the thickness? the thicker u go the larger u can make the tank

im making the aquarium a lot shorter and into a box now i think maybe 14" by 14"

Nevermind i got it now but i need another piece of acrylic for the lip around tank. so its gonna be 18 by 18 cube 6 in high about 7 gallons with a 10 gallon sump. and its gonna be maybe again maybe one fish and all coral and clams. sound good

well I guess i just like the way they look the minimalist design. I also like to save some money on the tank and the livestock. The acrylic is 24 by 18 by 7/32 or close to that

this is for which part the base? i may have but ill have to check the thickness.

no those are the pieces im cutting from the base is gonna be 18 by 18
