ive been debating on what salt i should use.
i was thinking of EVS or deltec h20 or stick with RC .
im planning on getting this thing going in 2-3 weeks

nice build i would go with D&D only draw back its expensive but you get what you pay for.

The build is coming along pretty nice. As far as the salt, I've tried them all and it was a good battle between ESV and Tropic Marin. But, eventually went with ESV. Their magnesium and alkalinity levels are unmatched and it mixes crystal clear and ready to use in minutes.

@dubs-i heard and read nothing but good things about sro skimmers. i know i wont be disapointed

how hard is it to mix the esv? does it bring scoops?

Mixing the ESV salt is going to be the last thing you're going to worry about if you own a reef tank. And they do come with scoopers and a measuring cup.

i really wanted a DJ strip- but it was going to be a PITA to set up with my limited space so i when with this one.

this is what it looks like wired up...the bottom one is a RKL

this is what it looks like inside the stand. i tried to hide as many cables as i cood...i think they won.

and another ...i did not want to put the RK display outside of the stand.

i just bought a 60 cube. Your thread is giving me ideas. What type of corals are you planning on keeping in there? if any?

well camera is dead , the phone takes crappy pics so ill wait to take crappy pics with the camera lol the rocks are just pilled up not yet scaped...

i tested ammonia last night which was 0 so........
got a couple of shrimps put them in a mesh bag to spike it.
this morning i smell the sump and it stinks :dead1: so thats a good sign

btw i when with the esv salt.. mixes clean! & is not that bad to mix componentes IMO. havent tested it other than salinity.
