can anyone id this fish

bought this fish today at ocean gallery but no one had a clue what it was i picked it up anyway brian always takes care of me so i paid barely nothing for the fish i just need to know if it's reef safe or not

Looks a lot like Plagiotremus rhinorhynchos, it's a blenny. Or at least that's my best guess from the pic.

thanks lfsmarineguy it is a blemmy also know as the saber tooth blemmy i guess he's not going in my display tank it's a shame because he's got striking colors never seen one before

I haven't personally gotten one in ever so I can't really give you a price. There are really many factors that would determine the price but ultimately if you like the fish and you don't feel like you overpaid, than the price was right lol.

Hey I saw that fish in person when he bought it nice oddball there J personally I have researched them and can't find a price ither which leads me to believe that its a rare fish thus $$$$

The one Sabertooth I saw for sale last summer was 24.99. Don't know if that helps you out at all.

They don't usually go for much but "rare" is a relative term in this hobby. A fish could be "rare" for any number of reasons, including low demand, thus not many imported in the first place.
