so yesterday i was planning on getting only the 29g bio cube set up but only the tank and stand honestly and im new to reefing so i did not want to put myself in a bind. So obviously i did so just because the deal with the rocks and sand was so good i couldnt pass it up. Originally i thought eh whatever if the corals live they live and if they dont they dont. Well i pulled almost an all nighter last night setting this bio cube up. I didnt aquascape last night didnt have the patience or the visibility. Most of these corals i know are in bad shape but to my surprise this morning a few of them opened up i hope its a good sign. Well here are some pics while i know its still early of some of the progress so far since last night into this evening even though the battle is not done im actually very excited thanx for all the advice and what to do's so far its been a great. I have no idea whats what or what belongs where so let the whipping begin.

so i got my tunze 9002, 20k ushio (doesnt seem different from the 14k phoenix) and the stevie t media basket today just got done installing i went ahead did a water change while i was at it. kinda disappointed with the media basket in a way because instructions say to leave the water level just below the first chamber but that is just not possible to do with the tunze and the stevie t cup it winds up hitting and not sitting correctly on the skimmer but oh well at least everything is consolidated thanks for looking and suggestions are welcomed thx guys

brown algae

so question i have been having a problem with brown algae as of the last couple weeks parameters with ati test kit are
cal 320 ( i know its low need to adjust my dosing)
ph 7.8 (morning lights were on for about and hour)
phos 0.0 - 0.25 hard to tell the color but was sure it was at 0
kh 7
nitrate 0
nitrite 0
tep 77 morning 79 evening
salinity 1.024
gonna take my water to a lfs have them test it to see what they come up with and compare notes

the bulb was just replaced yesterday from a 14k phoenix to a 20k ushio

i tend to feed once every 2 days i do try to target feed my corals as well 2 times a week

I am using ro/di water the tds reads 0

using instant ocean salt mix atm but plan on switching to esv or h2o not sure yet

i have some brown algae kinda hair like and some stuborn red short algae seems pretty course but i am running chemipure elite and purigen in a mesh bag also have poly filter pad i just put in yesterday how long should i wait before pushing the panic button
